Building a Founding Team for an Electric Vehicle Charging Startup

When two Founders launched an ambitious electric vehicle charging startup, they had a clear vision but needed a team capable of turning their idea into a scalable, market-ready business. With initial funding secured, the challenge was to recruit the right mix of technical, operational, and strategic talent to deliver the product roadmap.


We partnered with them from the outset to define the team structure, helping recruit a Chief Technology Officer to lead design and engineering, a Head of Operations to oversee production planning, and a Project Manager to coordinate development milestones. Once the leadership team was in place, we supported recruitment of Design Engineers, Development and Project Managers, and Operations Manager to develop both the prototype and sites and install each EV Charging Station. 


Today, the startup has successfully installed multiple EV Charging Stations across the UK and as they develop further sites they are also building an Operations and Maintenance team to provide customer support and routine maintenance. This demonstrates how strategic early appointments combined with structured team building can transform a founder-led vision into a functioning, high-performance organisation.

Building a Commercial and Operations Team for an EV Charging Network Launch

When a startup was preparing to enter the market with a new EV charging network, the Founders needed a Commercial and Operations Team capable of executing a successful launch and scaling early deployment and customer adoption.


We partnered with them to define the leadership structure, recruiting a Chief Commercial Officer to lead sales, marketing, and strategic partnerships; a Head of Operations to oversee site development, installation logistics, and network performance; and a Launch Project Manager to coordinate timelines across engineering, infrastructure, and go-to-market activities.


Once the senior leadership was in place, we helped build cross-functional teams, including business development specialists, customer support leads, and network operations coordinators, ensuring every aspect of launch execution was covered.


Today, the startup has successfully rolled out its EV charging stations, established key site partnerships, and scaled operational processes to support early growth. This demonstrates how strategic commercial and operations appointments, combined with a well-structured team, can turn a clean tech vision into a market-ready solution.
